Getting to Technology Raceway by air is simple, thanks to its proximity to several regional and national airports. Whether you're arriving from within the U.S. or overseas, there are multiple flight options and convenient onward connections by road. The most straightforward choice is to fly into nearby St. Louis, but depending on your route, other airports may also suit your plans.
If you’re flying in for a race weekend at Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois, the most convenient option is St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL). Located just about 30 minutes from the venue, STL offers a wide range of domestic connections, with direct flights from major U.S. cities including New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Denver.
Once you land, getting to the track is easy – rental cars (such as Avis, Hertz, Dollar…) and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available, and the route to the raceway via I-70 East and IL-203 North is straightforward.
Another option is MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (BLV), located about 45 minutes from the raceway. While it’s a smaller facility, it serves a handful of destinations through low-cost carrier Allegiant Air. For budget-conscious travellers flying from cities like Orlando or Las Vegas, this can be a surprisingly convenient alternative – but keep in mind that ground transport options are limited, so renting a car in advance is recommended.
For international travellers or those unable to find direct flights into St. Louis, Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) may be worth considering. Although it’s about 4.5 to 5 hours away by car, O’Hare is one of the busiest airports in the world and connects to virtually every major global hub. If you're flying in from Europe, Canada, or elsewhere abroad, O’Hare offers significantly more options – just be prepared for a longer drive south via I-55.
Other airports in the region include Indianapolis International Airport (IND), roughly 3.5 hours from the raceway, and Kansas City International Airport (MCI), about 4 hours away. Both are well-connected to U.S. cities and can be practical options if you find cheaper flights or better timing. From Indianapolis, the drive is fairly straightforward along I-70 West; from Kansas City, it's a direct shot along I-70 East.
Lastly, for those arriving by private aircraft, St. Louis Downtown Airport (CPS) is just 10 minutes from the track and caters to general aviation and charter flights. While not relevant to most fans, it’s a useful option for corporate guests or private travellers who want quick and direct access to the venue.
